The majority of people who desire to study abroad and travel abroad must take the IELTS exam in order to get admitted to the university of their dreams. Everyone who intends to take the IELTS exam should be aware of how to calculate ielts score. We'll explain how IELTS band scores are determined in this article.
IELTS scores range from 0 to 9. Candidates receive a band score for each of the four categories—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing—as well as an overall band score that represents the average of all four sections. Candidates may receive scores of.5, 6.5, or 7.
How overall band score is calculated?
The average of all the sections' scores is used to get the IELTS overall band score (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking). Each section's score is equally weighted. To the nearest full or half band, the candidate's overall band score is rounded.
The nearest 0.5 is used to round up or down an IELTS result.

- Your final score will rise to 6.5 if your total average is 6.25.
